Patna: Opposition Leaders Reach Assembly House Wearing Helmets, Black Masks

Patna: Monsoon session of the Bihar Legislature has started on Monday. Legislature proceedings began at 11 am on the first day of the monsoon session. Speaker Vijay Kumar Sinha first welcomed all the members in the house and then informed that Lok Janshakti Party MLA Rajkumar Singh will now be a member of Janata Dal (United).

Although the Vidhan Sabha Secretariat had issued its notification long back, Speaker Vijay Kumar Sinha gave this information with the commencement of the session today.

Earlier, outside the Bihar Legislature, the opposition MLAs protested by wearing black masks. They also raised slogans against the government. RJD MLA Satish Kumar arrived wearing a helmet. Many more MLAs of the opposition were also seen wearing helmets. They were also carrying a first aid kits. On being questioned about the first aid kits, the opposition alleged that MLAs are lynched, that is why they have arrived outside with all the necessary safety precautions. 

Opposition to target the government on these issues

From Monday, a five-day monsoon session has started in the Bihar Legislature.During the session, the opposition will try to target the government on issues like inflation, assault on MLAs, and increased prices of petrol and diesel.

At the same time, RJD MLA Bhai Virendra said Tejashwi Yadav wants the Chief Minister to apologise in the House over beating up of MLAs in the budget session. He added that if the Chief Minister does not apologise, then the opposition will decide its strategy for the future accordingly.

He also said that their legislature party meeting is also going to take place today in which they will not target the government on various issues. The MLAs were roughed up by the policemen at the behest of the government. RJD MLA Bhai Virendra concluded that the action was taken against only two constables, while the legislators of the opposition were attacked by the senior police and administration officials on the government’s order.
