It seems that now the five-day work week rule may apply in the Indian banking sector. This step is being taken with the aim of improving the work-life balance of the employees, and if it is effective, it will mean that the banks will now be closed every Saturday and Sunday. Indian Banks Association IBA has made a proposal in this regard with bank unions, and according to reports the proposal is in its final stages. If the government gives it the green signal, then this new schedule of Indian banks will be officially notified in the next few times. Currently, Indian banks are closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month, but after this new change, all will remain a holiday on Saturday. If this change is applicable, it will prove to be a major relief for employees in the banking sector, which have been raising this demand for a long time. The old demand of banking employees is that they get an opportunity to work for five days a week and take two days off, as is in institutions like Reserve Bank of India RBI and Life Insurance Corporation of India LIC. However, it is also being told that if five-day work applies, the week can increase slightly in daily bank time for customers, it is estimated that there may be no additional work affected every day. Modern digital banking features have also made this change practical, as customers can now do many things easily through online transactions, ATM services and mobile banking without going to the branch. This new rule is not only aimed at improving the lives of employees, but it is also expected to bring more efficiency in bank operations. It is expected that the central government will soon release official notifications in this regard. If this happens, this bank will not only improve work-life balance for employees, but will also make banking more convenient for customers, which are adopting digital methods.
