News India Live, Digital Desk: The Indian Embassy in Portugal said in a post on the social media platform X that India will not shake with “desperate provocation” after the protests organized by Pakistan near the Chancery Bhawan of the embassy.
The embassy said in the post, “The Indian Embassy strongly responded to ‘Operation Sindoor’ to the cowardly protests organized by Pakistan near our Chancery Bhavan.
The post further said, “We thank the Portugal government and its police officers for cooperation in ensuring the safety of the embassy.”
The embassy also shared several pictures of the building, which had a banner of Operation Sindoor outside. It was written on the banner, ‘Operation vermilion is not over yet.’
India-Pakistan Tension
On 22 April, terrorists opened fire in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, killing 25 Indian citizens and a Nepali citizen. India did not sit silent, but he took many diplomatic and punitive steps against Pakistan.
Measures declared by New Delhi included suspending the Indus Water Treaty, banning Pakistani flag ships at Indian ports and several other measures.
Subsequently, the Indian armed forces started Operation Sindoor on 7 May, targeting the terrorist structure in Pakistan and Pakistan -occupied Jammu and Kashmir (POJK). The statement of the Ministry of Defense clarified that India’s response was focused, measured and non-grown. Subsequently, Pakistan launched a drone and missile attacks on the Indian region, and India responded to these attacks.
After several days of conflict between the two countries, the Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) of Pakistan approached its Indian counterpart and both sides reached the ceasefire agreement to apply on land, sea and air.
