News India Live, Digital Desk: Indian Railways: A great news has come to light for the development of Bihar. Indian Railways has decided to strengthen railway infrastructure in Sonpur (East Central Railway, Hajipur Zone). Under this, two completely new railway lines will be laid in Sonpur division – one 29 km long and the other 16 km long. This step will not only provide excellent facilities to the passengers, but will also provide many big benefits to the Railways, which will directly help in the progress of the country.
Which are these new railway lines and their benefits?
-
Dedicated Freight Corridor and its connecting lines:
These new lines are being laid especially for freight trains. The Government of India is constructing a ‘dedicated goods corridor’ to make goods transport faster and efficient across the country. With these lines, goods trains will be able to run fast and there will be no obstruction in the way of passenger trains.-
Benefits:
-
Goods transport will be faster: The goods trains will run at their own pace without any obstruction, which will speed up the movement of goods.
-
Logistic cost will be low: Efficient transport will reduce the cost of traders and industries, which will benefit the economy.
-
Environmental pollution will decrease: The freight from the railway is better for the environment than the road.

-
New loop lines and bypass:
These lines will be helpful to smooth train operations at important junctions like Sonpur. Loop lines provide additional tracks for passing trains and crossing, while bypass lines reduce traffic on the main route via cities.-
Benefits:
-
Timing of trains will improve: The jam on the junctions will get rid of, which will reduce the possibility of delays of trains and will run on time.
-
Passengers will save time: Low stagnation and rapid traffic will reduce the travel time of passengers.

Safety improvement:
Additional lines and better infrastructure will further increase security in train operations. Double track reduces the risk of train accidents coming from the front. -
Employment generation:
The construction of these projects will create large -scale employment opportunities, which will help in the economic development of Bihar. -
regional Development:
Better railway connectivity will promote agriculture, industry and tourism in the surrounding areas. Cities and towns near the new rail lines will benefit.
The project is a part of the ‘National Rail Development Scheme’ and reflects the commitment of modernization and expansion of Indian Railways. This will provide more convenience to people in Bihar.
