Semi high speed Vande Bharat trains are running in many parts of the country. But the plan to run Vande Bharat trains on all long routes of the country has suffered a setback. Actually, the government has canceled the contract of Rs 30 thousand crores to make Vande Bharat Express train. Under this scheme, a target was set to make 100 Vande Bharat trains. But Indian Railways has canceled this contract even before the completion of the tender. Due to which the speed of completion of this scheme has been slowed down. Know why this was done.

This matter is of 30 thousand crore rupees

The cancellation of this tender by the railways has given a big setback to the Vande Bharat scheme. The railways gave the contract to make 100 Vande Bharat trains for Rs 30 thousand crores. All the companies submitted bids to get this contract and the negotiations with the French company Alstom India have reached the final stage. Later, when the two could not reach an agreement on the money, the railways have now withdrawn this tender.

Alstom India MD Oliver Lewis gave information

Oliver Lewis, MD of Alstom India, the company that negotiated the tender for the construction of Vande Bharat, told Moneycontrol that there was a problem with the rupee offered in the tender. There was talk of making Vande Bharat train with aluminium body, but the Indian Railways cancelled their tender. We could have considered reducing this price in future, but the Railways cancelled the tender.

A railway official gave information about this deal

Railway officials said that the French company had demanded Rs 150.9 crore per tonne for the tender price. This was a very high price and we talked about bringing it down to Rs 140 crore. However, under pressure from the railways, Alstom also said that it would finalize the deal for Rs 145 crore. The company said that it would complete it for Rs 30 thousand crore and promised to make 100 Vande Bharat racks for the same price. Earlier, the tender for making each wagon of Vande Bharat sleeper train for Rs 120 crore has also been finalized.

Cancellation of tender will help railways in fixing the price

A railway official said, the cancellation of this tender will help the railways in deciding its price. Apart from this, the bidding companies will get a chance to understand their project and offer. Next time we will include more companies in the tender, so that if the competition increases then the cost will be reduced. This time only two bidders participated. Under the tender, Rs 13 thousand crore was to be received on the delivery of the rack and Rs 17 thousand crore was to be given for its maintenance for the next 35 years.
