India’s star batsman Virat Kohli is going to make a comeback in domestic cricket after more than a decade. It has been confirmed that Virat Kohli will play in Ranji Trophy for the first time since 2012. He will be available for the Ranji match against Railways in Delhi from January 30.

Kohli will miss Delhi’s next match against Saurashtra from January 23 due to a neck strain, but he has informed the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) that he will be available for the last league match of the Ranji Trophy. After this he will play a three-match ODI series against England and then go to Dubai for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

“Virat Kohli has informed the DDCA president (Rohan Jaitley) and the team management that he is available for the match against Railways,” Delhi head coach Sarandeep Singh told PTI. After the series loss in Australia, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has made it mandatory for contracted cricketers to play domestic cricket unless there is any issue with their fitness.

Indian team captain Rohit Sharma will also play in Ranji Trophy after almost 10 years. He has been included in the Mumbai team, where Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shreyas Iyer will also be seen along with him. Shubman Gill will play for Punjab Kings, while Ravindra Jadeja will be seen playing Ranji matches for Saurashtra. Thus, India’s top cricketers will now make a comeback in domestic cricket, and it is important for them, as their form in red ball cricket has not been that good recently.
