Washington : The Trump administration of America has once again made a big claim about the India-Pakistan ceasefire. The US International Trade Court has stopped Donald Trump’s ‘Liberation Day’ tariff. During the hearing of the case, Trump cited the ceasefire between India and Pakistan in the court. The Trump administration, citing a ceasefire in support of its case, said that if the tariff is not implemented, it would be a violation of the ceasefire. Trump’s claim has created a stir once again.

According to a report by the Indian Express, the Trump administration cited the Indo-Pakistan ceasefire to make the tariff case in its favor. Trump had earlier taken credit for a ceasefire between India and Pakistan. The Trump administration has now claimed that tariff powers have been used to resolve disputes between the two countries.

Credit of ceasefire between India and Pakistan

US President Donald Trump claimed that the ceasefire between India and Pakistan was with the media’s arbitration. He said the trade agreement has reduced military tension between the two countries. Trump has taken credit for this several times. After Operation Sindoor, India launched a campaign against Pakistan. Pakistan attacked India with drones and missiles. The strong air defense system of the Indian Army thwarted Pakistan’s repeated attacks.

But India’s Foreign Ministry said that the ceasefire between India and Pakistan took place under DGMO talks between the two countries. It denied the involvement of a third country in it. But in turn, Pakistan thanked Donald Trump.

Mention of 1971

Apart from this, the Trump administration also mentioned the 1971 decision during the hearing. The Trump administration imposed this tax in 1971 under an emergency order issued by the then President Richard Nixon. Citing this, the Trump administration said that the courts do not have the right to determine the validity of emergency. But the court dismissed the argument of the Trump administration.

In March, Trump also ordered a similar tax imposition of taxes on those countries that impose high taxes on American goods. He declared this decision by Mukti Divas. But the court ruled that Trump’s decision was unconstitutional.
