News India Live, Digital Desk: Ekadashi fast, one of the most sacred and important dates of Hindu religion. Lord Vishnu is worshiped on this day and devotees observe fast with full devotion. And when it comes to the worship of Lord Vishnu, it is natural to mention his most beloved Tulsi ji.
But there is a confusion regarding Ekadashi and Tulsi ji, which has been creating dilemma in the minds of devotees for years. That’s an illusion – “Should water be offered to Tulsi ji on Ekadashi?”
Often we have heard from elders or pundits that water should not be given to the Tulsi plant on the day of Ekadashi, because on this day Tulsi Mata also observes a waterless fast for Lord Vishnu. Offering water breaks their fast.
But, the famous saint of Vrindavan and spiritual guru of millions, Premanand Ji Maharaj Has said a completely different and logical thing on this subject, which has broken this old confusion.
What did Premanand Ji Maharaj say?
During one of his satsang, when a devotee asked him the same question, Premanand Ji Maharaj said clearly and clearly that this “Absolutely wrong and against scriptures” Is.
he explained:
1. “She is not an inanimate object, she is a real goddess”:
Maharaj ji said why do you consider Tulsi as just a plant? She is actually Hari Priya (beloved of Lord Vishnu). Just as you offer food and water to Thakur Ji (God), similarly you should serve him daily.
2. “God can remain hungry, but does not keep the devotee hungry”:
He further said, “Mata Tulsi is so kind that she herself can remain hungry and thirsty, but she will never tolerate that any of her devotees cannot serve her. She is only there to accept your service.”
3. “Plucking leaves is prohibited, serving is not”:
Premanand ji clarified that in the scriptures on the day of Ekadashi plucking basil leaves It is said to be forbidden because it causes pain to them. But Offering water, paying obeisance, showing the lamp… all this is service, and service can never be prohibited.
He even said, “Whoever has said this (that water should not be offered) is not a scholar of the scriptures, he has just said what he has heard.”
What is the final conclusion?
After these clear words of Premanand Ji Maharaj, it becomes clear that on the day of Ekadashi too, we should offer water to Tulsi Mata like every day. Yes, one should not make the mistake of plucking their leaves on this day.
Offering water is service, and service to God or His devotees cannot be forbidden on any day, on any date. Therefore, now do not fall into any confusion and serve your Tulsi Mata with full devotion even on the day of Ekadashi.
