News India Live, Digital Desk: Chaitra Navratri (Chaitra Navratri 2026) festival has started and every devotee wishes that Maa Durga should shower special blessings on them. According to astrology and Puranas, during the nine days of Navratri, certain events happen around us, which indicate that Mata Rani is pleased with our worship or we need to correct some mistake. Let us know about those auspicious and ‘inauspicious’ signs which can change your luck.

5 ‘auspicious’ signs of Mother Durga’s happiness

If you experience these during Navratri, then understand that your worship is being accepted:

Girl or married woman in dream: If you see a little girl giving fruits or coins in your dream, or a married woman in a red saree, then it is an indicator of financial gain and happiness and prosperity.

Coconut or lotus flower: Hearing the sound of coconut, lotus flower or conch during puja or in dreams is a sign of the arrival of Goddess Lakshmi.

Brightening of the unbroken light: If your Akhand Jyoti suddenly starts burning with a bright and golden flame without any external wind, then it is the proof of the presence of Mother.

Cow arriving at the door: If a cow comes to the main entrance of your house and mooes during morning puja, it is considered very auspicious.

Bird’s Nest: A bird making a nest or sparrows chirping in the courtyard or balcony of the house is a sign of prosperity.

Caution: These ‘inauspicious’ signs give warning

Many times, due to unintentional mistakes, we get some signs which should not be ignored:

Sudden breaking of glass: Suddenly breaking of mirror in the puja room or house can be a sign of mental stress or impending crisis.

Extinction of the eternal flame: Extinguishing the Akhand Jyoti due to carelessness is not considered auspicious. If this happens, apologize immediately and rekindle it.

Pooja thali falling: If the plate falls from the hand during aarti or puja, it is a sign of lack of concentration of mind and upcoming obstacles.

Drying of Basil: If the green basil suddenly starts drying up during Navratri, it could be a sign of some negative energy coming into the house.

Surefire ways to remove negativity

If you feel that the signs are not auspicious, do not panic. You can please your mother with these simple measures:

Forgiveness prayer: Recite ‘Aparadha Kshamapana Stotra’ at the end of daily puja.

Camphor smoke: Burn Bhimseni camphor in the entire house in the morning and evening, this removes Vaastu defects.

Kanya Pooja: Feed fruits or sweets to little girls as per their capacity.
