News India Live, Digital Desk: A very shocking news has emerged from the platform of international politics which shows the growing stature of India. Germany’s Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar During an important discussion with India, it has been admitted that Europe had made a big strategic mistake in the past by distancing itself from India.

Europe’s ‘changed perspective’: Germany’s big statement

The German Foreign Minister clearly admitted that BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) During the emergence of the alliance, Europe had distanced itself from India by considering it as part of a separate group. According to Baerbock:

Round of misunderstanding: Europe felt that India was only becoming a part of the anti-Western group.

Strategic mistake: Because of this distance, Europe missed many big opportunities for cooperation with the world’s largest democracy and fastest growing economy.

Now the turn of improvement: Germany now considers India not just a ‘partner’ but an ‘indispensable pillar’ for global stability.

S. Jaishankar’s ‘masterstroke’ and India’s threat

During this conversation S. Jaishankar presented India’s position strongly. India has always made it clear that its foreign policy is not limited to any one group (West or East). India believes in ‘multi-alignment’ (multi-party alliance), where it also maintains relations with Russia and also stands shoulder to shoulder with America and Europe.

Why did Germany and Europe change their stance?

Experts believe that there are three main reasons behind this:

Reducing dependence on China: Europe is now looking for an alternative to China for its supply chain, and India is the strongest contender.

Russia-Ukraine War: India’s neutral and peaceful role amid this crisis forced Europe to reconsider its policy.

Indo-Pacific region: Without India, no global power can make its strategy successful for commercial security at sea.

New chapter of India-Germany partnership

This statement by Germany will not only strengthen bilateral relations, but can also ease the way for India’s Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the European Union (EU). Now Germany wants to work with India at ‘super-speed’ in the fields of defence, technology and green energy.
