Pakistan has been receiving heavy rains since 26 June. According to reports, about 116 people have died. Punjab province has the highest number of 44 deaths, followed by 37 deaths in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 18 in Sindh and 19 in Balochistan.
In addition, one person was killed and five people were injured in Pakistan -occupied Kashmir (PoK). Floods have affected millions of people. Hundreds of houses have been destroyed. Essential services like electricity and water have been disrupted. The situation has deteriorated due to the breakdown of Chauhan dam, many areas including Rawalpindi have been submerged. Relief and rescue operations continue.
