Here is a fresh and simple article based on the inauguration of the first phase of Delhi-Dehradun Expressway. People of Delhi-NCR will get great relief after reading this.
If you are troubled by the traffic and jam of Delhi, Noida or Ghaziabad, then there is a very good news for you. The work on Delhi-Dehradun Expressway is in full swing and its first part has now been opened for the general public. This long piece of about 32 kilometers starts from Akshardham Temple in Delhi and goes to Baghpat in UP.
With the opening of this new road, not only will the speed of your vehicle increase, but the journey of hours will be reduced to minutes. Let us understand in simple language how this will benefit you and what effect it will have on your pocket.
Cross UP border in just 20-25 minutes
Till now, people used to sweat due to traffic jam while going from Akshardham to Baghpat. But now with this new route this distance will be covered in just 20 to 25 minutes. The journey from Delhi to UP border will become so much like butter that people going to office or traveling daily will get great relief. This will also reduce the pressure of vehicles on the old routes of Ghaziabad and Noida.
Most useful thing: Free travel for 1 month!
The biggest question in people’s mind is – “Brother, how much will the toll be?” So be happy. The National Highway Authority (NHAI) has decided that no toll will be charged on this 32 kilometer stretch for the next one month. That means right now you can enjoy the new expressway absolutely free.
What will be the rule of toll after one month?
When the free trial ends, the toll system will be similar to what currently runs on the ‘Delhi-Meerut Expressway’. If we understand in simple words:
- Toll may not be imposed from Nizamuddin till a certain limit (like Lalkuan).
- But if you go beyond that, you will have to pay toll on kilometer basis according to the distance you have covered. This is called ‘automatic tolling’.
Delhi to Dehradun in two and a half hours: When will the dream come true?
This is just the beginning. This entire expressway is 210 kilometers long, which is being built in four phases.
- Phase 1: Akshardham to Baghpat (has opened).
- Phase 2: Baghpat to Saharanpur (almost ready).
- Phase 3: Saharanpur to Ganeshpur (work in progress).
- Phase 4: Ganeshpur to Dehradun (Safety audit underway).
It is expected that the entire expressway will open by February 2026. After this, it will not take 6 hours to reach Dehradun from Delhi, but only 2 and a half hours.
You will be surprised to know the specialty
This is no ordinary road. In this, a 12 km long elevated wildlife corridor has been built near Rajaji National Park, which is the largest of its kind in Asia. This means that vehicles will run above and elephants and lions will be able to roam freely below.
On the way you will also find food courts, ATMs and charging stations for electric vehicles.
So if you are going to Baghpat or there, do try this new route!
