The good news is that now the central government has presented an effective solution to deal with this problem. Through the ‘Mera Sadak’ app, citizens can directly reach their complaints to the concerned departments and also track the road repair process.

This app has been developed by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (Ministry of Road Transport and Highways). Its main objective is to provide a direct platform to road users to file a complaint about poor road conditions such as pits, roadside debris or other construction defects. How to use the ‘My Road’ app, this is an easy process:

First of all, you have to download the ‘My Road’ application in your smartphone. This app is available for free on both Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

After installing the app, register on it using your mobile number or email ID.

To file a complaint, you have to verify your identity, for which the necessary information on the app like your name and other details.

Now take clear pictures of the pits or problems of the road you want to complain. These photos help explain the seriousness of the complaint.

Next, select the problem you want to report from the options given in the app (eg – pit on the road, road is bad, debris etc.).

Pin the exact location related to your complaint on the map or share your current location using GPS. It will be easy for the department to find out the problem.

After filing a complaint, you will get a complaint ID or reference number. By using this ID, you can track your complaint status in the app as to what action has been taken on it.
