Bhopal, 13 January: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated the Khelo MP Youth Games at the Boat Club located at Bade Talab in Bhopal on Tuesday evening. He announced “Khelo MP Youth Games” with the lighting of the torch. The function organized on this occasion marked the beginning of Khelo MP Youth Games with water projection, laser-show and grand fireworks. Playback singers Shefali Alvares and Divya Kumar performed at the ceremony. His late night performances enthralled the audience.

While addressing the function, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the grand launch of Khelo MP Youth Games has been done like the Olympic Games. If the beginning is like this then the end will also be very pleasant. The state government is working for the upgradation of sports, players and sports grounds. The state government is committed to providing facilities worth not lakhs but crores to the players. He said that a global event is visible here. He congratulated the organizer Sports and Youth Welfare Minister and his department. The Chief Minister said that work done from the heart spreads like this.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that this is also a praiseworthy event because wide public participation is visible here. This will excite and encourage the players. The state government will leave no stone unturned in boosting the morale of the players. The Chief Minister praised the slogan of Khelo MP Youth Games “Madhya Pradesh Ki Jai-Sabki Vijay”. The grand opening of MP’s biggest sports Mahakumbh took place from the city of lakes, Bhopal, organized with the joint coordination of sports associations. The grandeur of Bhopal’s ponds was seen alive in the inauguration ceremony.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the country is progressing in all sports under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Madhya Pradesh is also moving forward step by step in this. He said that innovation has been done by including games like Pittu in Khelo MP Youth Games. Besides, to hone the talents of rural areas, competitions have been organized at the development block, district, division and then state level. One and a half lakh players are expected to participate in it. My hope to all the players is that whatever work they do, do it wholeheartedly and the results will be pleasant.
Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Vishwas Kailash Sarang said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, better sports facilities are being provided to the players. Under the leadership of our sports loving Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, sports are continuously being promoted in the state. The logo, theme song, t-shirt and mascot of “Khelo MP Youth Games” were launched in the program. The competition will run till January 31. Players who have excelled in youth games will be given priority in further state team selection.
Sports Minister Sarang said that the winning players at the state level will be given a prize money of about Rs 4 crore. In this, first prize will be Rs 31 thousand, second prize will be Rs 21 thousand and third prize will be Rs 11 thousand. The selection process will start from the block level. A total of 28 sports competitions will be organized in Khelo MP Youth Games-2025. For better coordination with sports associations, coordination officers have been appointed by the Sports Department. A large number of sports lovers were invited to the inauguration ceremony. Representatives of national sports federations also attended as guests. It is noteworthy that it has been decided to organize the respective games only in the areas where they have tradition and popularity.
The main attraction of the function was the audience was overwhelmed by seeing the pictures of the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister through water projection. The hunters lined up with lights on the big pond enthralled the spectators. The function started with a group dance by folk artists. Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah, Minister of State Pratima Bagri, Mayor Malti Rai, MLA Rameshwar Sharma and Bhagwan Das Sabnani, Chief Secretary Anurag Jain, DGP Kailash Makwana, Hitanand Sharma and Sports Director Rakesh Kumar Gupta were present in the program.
313 development blocks of the state will participate
State level competitions are proposed to be organized in Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Jabalpur, Rewa, Shivpuri, Gwalior, Sagar and Narmadapuram. Under the block level selection process, 313 development blocks of the state will participate at the district level. At the state level, teams from 10 divisions of the state – Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Gwalior, Ujjain, Sagar, Rewa, Chambal, Narmadapuram and Shahdol will participate.
Competitions of 11 sports in three phases
There will be competitions of 11 sports in three phases (block, district and state level). These include hockey, boxing, athletics, kho-kho, swimming, table tennis, mallakhamb, wrestling, judo, chess, weightlifting. Competitions of 10 sports will be organized in four stages (block, district, division and state level). This includes football, volleyball, cricket, badminton, pittu, basketball, tennis, yoga, tug of war, kabaddi. Archery, Taekwondo, Kayaking-Canoeing, Rowing, Fencing, Shooting, Throw Ball competitions will be organized directly at the state level.
