Kusha Kapila Teams Up with Sheeba Chaddha for Instagram Series ‘Likhe Jo Khat Tujhe’

Actor and content creator Kusha Kapila is taking a significant step into long-form digital storytelling on social-first platforms with the announcement of her debut Instagram series, titled ‘Likhe Jo Khat Tujhe’. The show pairs Kapila with veteran actor Sheeba Chaddha in a 14-episode emotional drama centered on an accidental correspondence between two women navigating personal upheaval. Moving away from typical short-form clips, the project presents character-driven episodic drama crafted specifically for social media feeds.

A Tale of Accidental Pen Pals and Shared Healing

The narrative revolves around an unintentional bond formed through handwritten letters. The plot begins when an old letter, intended for an estranged friend, mistakenly reaches another woman living in the same home. What starts as a postal mix-up gradually evolves into an exchange that bridges two contrasting lives:

  • Anisha (played by Kusha Kapila): A young woman residing in Mumbai, navigating the emotional fallout and vulnerability of a painful relationship breakup.

  • Charu (played by Sheeba Chaddha): A widow based in Lucknow, quietly enduring personal loss, grief, and the quiet transitions of later life.

Despite the generational gap and geographical distance between Mumbai and Lucknow, the written exchanges become a mutual emotional lifeline. Through their letters, both women confront unresolved baggage, process emotional grief, and gradually rediscover a sense of self.

Expanding Beyond Short Reels to Long-Form Microdramas

While social platforms like Instagram are predominantly recognized for fast-paced reels and comedic sketches, ‘Likhe Jo Khat Tujhe’ represents an effort to establish structured microdrama narratives with extended emotional arcs directly on user timelines.

Kapila has previously explored cinematic storytelling, both starring in and producing the short film ‘Vyarth’, which examined typecasting and industry struggles faced by female actors. The new series broadens that creative scope into an episodic format focusing on vulnerability and feminine friendship. Speaking about the collaboration, Kapila noted that sharing the screen with an artist of Sheeba Chaddha’s caliber felt like a masterclass in subtlety and emotional depth.

Production Details and Creative Backing

The 14-part drama is produced by Tulsea and Versus Entertainment, with Moonwalk Motion Pictures onboard as executive producers. The series is supported by Kapila’s brand Underneath, with curated visual settings developed in collaboration with Airbnb to reflect the distinct personal environments and internal worlds of both characters in Mumbai and Lucknow. The project is slated to stream directly on Instagram, marking an evolving trend of narrative-driven fiction made natively for social channels.
