News India Live, Digital Desk: Land for Job Scam: The movement in the corridors of politics has once again intensified. Former Bihar Chief Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) President Lalu Prasad Yadav has reserved its verdict in the ‘Lagger Job’ scam associated with Lalu Prasad Yadav. Now everyone’s eyes are on whether Lalu Yadav, his wife Rabri Devi, daughter Misa Bharti and other accused will be framed or they will get relief. This decision is considered very important for the political future of the Lalu family.
Kiran Bansal, Special Judge of the Rouse Avenue Court, after hearing the arguments of all the parties involved in the case, said that she will give her verdict on October 29.
What is the whole matter of ‘land instead of land’?
This is the case of the time when Lalu Prasad Yadav was the Railway Minister in the UPA government at the center between 2004 and 2009. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) alleges that during this time Lalu Yadav and his family got many people got their lands at a quarter to one price in exchange for group ‘D’ jobs in the railway.
According to the CBI, all this was done under a well-planned conspiracy. Earlier the candidates were temporarily recruited in the Railways and when their land was registered in the name of Lalu family members or their close ones, they were permanent. The investigating agency says that in this way many candidates were given direct jobs without any public information or procedure.
What arguments did CBI argue in court?
During the hearing of the case, the CBI told the court that he has strong evidence against the accused. The CBI says that they have documents that prove that there is a direct connection between the land deal and the jobs. The agency claimed that they have also detected money transactions in this scam, which directly connects to the Lalu family.
What did Lalu’s lawyer say?
On the other hand, Lalu Prasad Yadav’s lawyers have described all these allegations as baseless and politically motivated. He says that the CBI has no such concrete evidence to prove that the land had to do anything from the jobs. He argued that the whole matter has been made only to tarnish the image of Lalu Yadav and his family.
Apart from the Lalu family, some of the then big officials of the railway are also accused in this case. Now only on October 29, it will be clear whether the case will go on in this case or not. If the court orders to framle the charges, then the difficulties of the Lalu family are sure to increase, and if the court frees them, it will be a big political and legal victory for them.
