News India Live, Digital Desk: If we talk about the politics of South India, especially Karnataka, there is never peace there. You might remember that when Congress won the elections there, a game of ‘musical chairs’ was played regarding the Chief Minister’s chair. Ultimately Siddaramaiah became the CM and DK Shivakumar had to be content with becoming the Deputy CM.
But now it seems that the ‘peace agreement’ is on the verge of breaking. DK Shivkumar did one such Cryptic Message Has given, which has created a stir from Bangalore to Delhi.
“The power of the tongue is the power of the world.”
DK Shivakumar has recently said a very deep thing on social media and in his statements. He said in English- “Word Power is World Power” (The power of words is the power of the world). It sounds like a philosophy, but in politics words have much deeper meanings.
Political pundits believe that DK Shivkumar does not talk on air. His direct reference is towards the ‘promise’ which was made to him when the government was formed.
What was that two and a half year formula?
The news was that the Congress high command had made a formula to bring about reconciliation between the two leaders. It was said that Siddaramaiah will be the CM for the first two and a half years and after that DK Shivakumar will get the chair for the remaining two and a half years.
Now that it has been a long time since the government was formed and two and a half years are approaching, DK Bhai has started sending ‘reminders’. He says that “word” or “given word” is the greatest power, which should not be broken.
Siddaramaiah’s group is also ready
On the other hand, the Siddaramaiah camp does not seem to be in any mood to leave the chair right now. His supporting MLAs repeatedly give statements that “Siddaramaiah will remain the CM for the full 5 years.” Obviously, this must have hurt DK Shivakumar. That is why now he has thrown the ball towards the High Command, citing his ‘loyalty’ and ‘sacrifice’.
Will there be change in Karnataka?
This statement of DK Shivakumar is being seen like an ultimatum. His meaning is clear “I waited for the party, now I want my rights.”
At present, this situation has become like “snake-rat” for Congress. If Siddaramaiah is removed, his OBC vote bank may get angry. And if DK is not made, he is a strong leader of the Vokkaliga community, there may be a rebellion in the party.
Now it will be interesting to see how Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and the Gandhi family solve this ‘puzzle’. Will DK’s dream come true or will he have to play with ‘words’ some more?
What do you think? Should DK Shivakumar get the chance as promised?
