Railway Emergency Quota: The Ministry of Railways has made an important change in the rules of Emergency Quota, which will provide relief to general passengers in ticket confirmation. Seats are reserved for VIPs, railway employees and medical emergency passengers under this quota.
What are the new rules?
Railways have recently decided to prepare a reservation chart 8 hours before the train is released. Keeping this in mind, the Ministry of Railways has changed the rules to apply for emergency quota. The Ministry issued a circular in this regard on Tuesday, which states:
Trains running from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm: Emergency quota request for these trains should reach the emergency room by 12:00 pm a day before the journey.
Trains running from 2:01 pm to 12:59 pm: The request for these trains should reach one day before the journey by 4:00 pm.
Special rules for Sunday and holidays
The Railway Ministry has clarified that no request will be accepted under the emergency quota on the day of the train departure. In the event of Sunday or other public holidays, the request will have to be submitted a day before the office is closed.
What will be the benefit of common passengers?
Due to the misuse of emergency quota and the requests made at the last minute, the reservation chart was being delayed, which was affecting the passengers with the waiting list. The new rules will solve this problem and passengers with waiting list will get timely ticket confirmation.
Railway Board received a large number of requests
The Railway Ministry said that the Railway Board’s Reservation Cell receives a large number of requests from VIPs, railway officials, senior officials and other departments. The new rules will make this process easier and transparent.
