A major accident was averted late on Thursday night in Hazratganj area of Lucknow when a house on the second floor of Halwasia building caught fire. During this time, two women were trapped inside the house, which was taken out by the fire brigade team in time.

Fire started late at 12:15 pm
The incident took place on the second floor of Halwasia Building in front of LIC office at Hazratganj. 88 -year -old Suman Singh and Ritu Singh lived here. Around 12:15 pm, people around seeing smoke and flames arose from the house. Women trapped inside the house started screaming for help. Ritu Singh somehow called the fire department and tried to control the fire.
Fire brigade team rescue
On receiving the information of the incident, Hazratganj FSO Ramkumar Rawat reached the spot with three fire engines. One team started the work of extinguishing the fire, while the other team went to the second floor through the ladder and took out the two women safely. During this time the roof of the house also fell, causing more difficulty in extinguishing the fire.
Fire found in 30 minutes control
The fire was completely controlled after about half an hour of hard work. Thankfully there was no loss of life in this incident. According to the FSO, the cause of the fire is not yet clear, but a short circuit is feared.
