This announcement is the state cooperative minister K.N. Rajanna did it on Thursday. The minister said that this decision has been taken due to the constant pressure of milk associations and farmers.
Government approves to increase price
Rajanna said in the press conference:
“The decision to increase prices has been taken by the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF). They wanted to increase by ₹ 5 per liter, but the government has approved an increase of ₹ 4. This increased amount will be fully given to farmers.”
This increase has been made keeping in mind the recent increase in bus, metro fares and electricity rates in the state.

Milk in Karnataka is still cheaper than other states

Gujarat – ₹ 53 per liter
Andhra Pradesh and Telangana – ₹ 58 per liter
Delhi and Maharashtra – ₹ 56 per liter
Kerala – ₹ 54 per liter

KMF also increased milk prices by ₹ 2 per packet in 2023.
Then the amount of packet was also increased by 50 ml, which did not put much weight on consumers.
However, in 2024 this price hike is being done directly to farmers.
