If you have seen in a film that a person who is believed to be murdered, suddenly comes out alive after years, then you will just find the story of the film. But the same thing has happened in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh! A sensational case has come to light here, after hearing this, both the police and the judiciary have lost their senses. A man, who had been punished for his cousin on the charge of ‘murder’, suddenly reached the court after 13 years and shouted – “I am alive!”
The case is of 2011. A young man named Ghazi Khan (at that time was being named Aftab), a resident of Muradpur village in Shahjahanpur, was kidnapped. Later, the police found an unknown body (skeleton) while searching for him. The police and family somehow identified the body as Ghazi Khan (or Aftab Khan of that time). The police registered a case of murder, investigated and arrested Ghazi’s cousin Momin and two of his associates in this ‘murder case’.
A case of ‘murder’ against Momin and two of his associates in the court led to a case. Year after year, these trials went on, and eventually, justice ‘set’ its path. The court sentenced Momin and his associates to life imprisonment, and they reached behind the prison bars.
Everything was over, the murder had been avenged, but then a drama that is beyond imagination! 13 years later, a man appeared in court on Wednesday and he claimed everyone, “I am Ghazi Khan, and I am alive!” He told that the person (Momin) who has been punished for killing him is innocent. He was going somewhere else, and has now come back.
In the court, as soon as Momin’s lawyer presented this ‘dead’ man (Ghazi Khan) in front of the judge, all the people present there were shocked. The court will now look at the entire case afresh. Think what will be the mental state of the person who was ‘killed’ in the mistake of someone else, and what will be the condition of the family and Momin himself who was kept in jail for this murder for years! The incident highlights the possibility of mistakes in the justice system and its serious consequences. It will be interesting to see how this ‘Zinda Murda’ is dealt with the book of law now!
