In the IPL 2025 season, the most exciting match has been seen between Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals. The match played at Arun Jaitley Stadium was tied and reached the super over. Delhi Capitals won the thriller, but Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson feels that his team was close to victory and Mitchell Starc drove him away from that victory.
The match reached the super over after a score of 188 runs
Delhi, batting first, scored 188 runs in 20 overs. In response, the Rajasthan team also scored the same score while playing the entire over. In the last over, Rajasthan needed only 9 runs to win, but Mitchell Starc’s finest Yorker bowling got the score equal and the match went into the super over. There too, Stark bowled amazing and stopped Rajasthan for just 11 runs, which Delhi achieved in three balls.
What did Sanju Samson say after the defeat?
After the match, Sanju Samson first told about his condition of injury. He said, “My injury seems fine now. It was difficult to return to the ground at that time, but now I feel better. Tomorrow it will be correctly examined.”
Talking about batting, he said, “We had full chance to win this match. Our bowlers and fielders performed well. The beginning was good and we could achieve the target. But some turns came where we fell backward.”
“Mitchell Starc snatched victory from us – Samson
Sanju Samson clearly stated that Mitchell Starc’s bowling in the last over changed the attitude of the match. “Stark is one of the best bowlers in the world. He bowled amazing in the 20th over and snatched the match from our hand. That over was very heavy for us.”
This victory could have been memorable for Rajasthan
If there was a boundary in the last over, Rajasthan could have won. But Stark not only put the exact yorker, but did not give both set batsmen – Dhruv Jurael and Simran Hetmyer – to kill the boundary. The final ball needed 2 runs, but Jurael was run out in the process of taking a run and the match was tied.
Stark dominates in super over
Mitchell Starc continued in the super over. He again limited Rajasthan to only 11 runs, which Delhi Capitals achieved in just three balls. This performance shows why Stark is considered the world’s best death over bowler.
