News India Live, Digital Desk: A big news has come out about the recent Gopal Khemka murder case in Patna. In view of the seriousness of the case and negligence in the investigation, Patna Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rajiv Mishra has suspended the police station officer (SHO) Rajinikanth of Gandhi Maidan police station. The action has been taken on charges of serious negligence and ignoring the rules in the investigation of the case. On July 10, Gopal Khemka, a big businessman from Patna, was found dead in suspicious circumstances in his house. The next day of this tragic incident, on July 11, the family lodged an FIR (FIR) with the police, in which the businessman’s nephew Sourav Kumar was described as the main accused. The family alleges that the murder has been done over the property dispute and serious sections like a conspiracy (Section 120B of the Indian Penal Code) were also imposed in the FIR. According to the measures, such serious and sensitive matters have to be informed immediately, especially the city SP office so that senior officials can monitor the investigation. But the police station chief Rajinikanth did not send this file to the City SP office for about two days nor took the matter seriously. The FIR was sent to the City SP’s office on July 12, which wasted valuable time and lax in the preliminary action of the case. Police captain Rajiv Mishra expressed strong displeasure over the laxity and neglect of the rules. He believes that in such serious cases it is very important to take immediate and effective action of the police, and the negligence of the police station is unforgivable. This action is considered an important step towards ensuring accountability in the police department, so that no policemen take such sensitive incidents lightly in future.
