Whether it is the job of the bank, taking a SIM card or filling a government form, it is useful everywhere. In such a situation, think, if the spelling, address or date of birth of your name is printed in it, then there can be so much trouble!

Earlier, these mistakes meant to improve, many rounds of government offices, long lines and waiting for months. But now the world has changed. Now you can do all this work sitting at home with your phone or laptop, taking tea sips.

The Election Commission of India has made the process so easy that anyone can do it. Let us tell you how you can improve the mistakes of your voter ID card.

Before starting the improvement, keep these things near:

• Your voter ID number (also called EPIC number).
• One document with your correct information (eg Aadhaar card, birth certificate, marksheet of 10th).
• A passport size photo of yours (if the photo is to be changed).
• Your mobile number (for OTP).

Easy way to improve voter ID card sitting at home:

1. Visit Election Commission website: First in your browser Voters.eci.gov.in Open This is the official website of the Election Commission of India.
2. log in or sign up: If you have come to this website for the first time, then ‘Sign-up’ Press your mobile number, email and a password by pressing the button and create your account. If your account is already made, then from your mobile number and password ‘Login’ Do
3. Choose magical form-8: After logging in, you will see many types of forms. For any kind of improvement in the voter ID card, you have to remember the same form – Form 8 (Form 8)It will be written on this, ‘Shifting of Residence/Correction of Entries …’. Click on it.
4. Enter your EPIC number: Now you will be asked whether you are applying for yourself or for someone else. Choose the option of ‘Self’ and submit your voter ID number and submit it. All your information will come on the screen.
5. Tell what to fix: Now you will see four options. The second option of these, ‘Correction of entries in existing electoral roll’ Choose and OK.
6. Choose the mistake and fill the correct information: Now the real work begins. You will be asked what you want to fix. You can tick many things simultaneously, such as –
   • Name (name)
   • Address
   • Date of Birth
   • Photo (photograph)
   • Mobile number

Whatever you tick, the box of filling it correctly under it will open. Fill your correct information.

1. Upload evidence document: To prove your correct information, you also have to upload proof of it. For example, if you are fixing the name, then upload a photo of Aadhaar card or 10th marksheet.
2. Submit the form: After filling all the information, press ‘Next’ and finally put the name of the place and ‘Submit’ the form.

As soon as the form is submitted, you have one on the screen Reference id number will get. Keep this number by taking a photo or writing. With this number, you will be able to check the status of your application later.

Just, your work is done! Now the booth level officer (blo) of your area will check your information and if everything is found right, your voter ID card will be improved in a few weeks. The new card will be sent to your address or you will be able to download it online.
