New Delhi: There is a huge protests in the entire country against the Allahabad High Court’s decision in the case of rape of a minor in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh. The judge of the single bench of the High Court said in the judgment that catching the breasts of the minor and tearing the pulse of his pajamas cannot be considered as an attempt to rape. A PIL was filed in the Supreme Court on Friday against this decision. Union Minister Annapurna Devi and MP Rekha Sharma also described the High Court’s decision as unfair and appealed to the National Commission for Women to go to the Supreme Court.

Senior advocate Shobha Gupta and Advocate Anjale Patel filed a PIL in the Supreme Court on Friday, protesting the decision of Justice Ram Manohar Mishra of the single bench of the Allahabad High Court. The petition demanded that the Supreme Court should direct the Central Government and the Registrar General of the High Court to remove the controversial part from the decision. It has also been demanded in the petition that the Supreme Court should prepare guidelines to prevent such controversial statements made by the judges.

Senior advocate Shobha Gupta has written a letter to Chief Justice Sanjeev Khanna requesting to take self -cognizance of this decision. He said that this decision has shaken his understanding of the law. They are very upset with this decision. They are shocked to see this news. Chief Justice Khanna should take cognizance of the matter from both administrative and judicial sides. In addition, consider the removal of the concerned judge from the criminal roster with immediate effect. This definition of Justice Mishra is completely wrong and his thinking on such a subject is completely insensitive and irresponsible. Such decisions send extensive wrong messages to a society where sexual offenses against women are already more.

Union Women and Child Development Minister Annapurna Devi strongly condemned the Allahabad High Court verdict. He said that this decision is completely wrong. He also requested the Supreme Court to consider the matter. The Supreme Court should seriously consider the matter. There is no place for this type of decision in civilized society. It will have a negative effect on society somewhere. We will discuss this issue further.

Former Chairman of the National Commission for Women and Rajya Sabha MP Rekha Sharma said that such a comment of the High Court is completely wrong. The National Commission for Women should go to the Supreme Court on this issue. If the judge remains insensitive then what will women and children do? They should look at the intention behind such acts.

Swati Maliwal also described this decision as extremely shameful. He said that what message do they want to give to the society that such an act can be done with a small girl and still it cannot be considered rape?
