New expectations to central employees on 8th Pay Commission and stuck DA: Learn why?

There is good news for millions of central government employees and pensioners. During the Kovid-19 epidemic, DA-Dearness Allowance and dearness relief have been expected once again for the payment of arrears. The possibilities of renewed interaction are now coming out in this regard, which indicate the employees of their long -stuck money.

In fact, for 18 months from January 2020 to June 2021, the government had banned dearness allowances and inflation relief of central employees and pensioners. The government had then argued that this decision has been taken in view of the financial crisis on the country due to the Kovid-19 epidemic so that the treasury does not get additional burden. However, since then the employees unions have been constantly pressurizing the payment of this dues.

So why is hope now raised?

According to the Staff Side Secretary of the National Joint Advisory Mantra (JCM), Shiv Gopal Mishra, there is now a strong possibility of negotiating with the Cabinet Secretary again regarding the payment of this dues. He has insisted that he is constantly under pressure on the government to pay these arrears. For some time, it has been in discussion that if the government decides to give this arrears, it can give it in installments instead of lump sum. Earlier, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had shown a positive attitude on the matter, which has always had a hope for the employees.

Employees believe that this is their right and the government should not have stopped it. It is estimated that this total outstanding dues can range from about Rs 1.50 lakh crore to Rs 2.18 lakh crore, which is a huge amount. This amount of dues vary according to their post and salary level for different employees. For example, a level-1 employee can get about Rs 11,880 to Rs 37,554, while Level-13 officials can get an arrear of Rs 1.25 lakh or more.

Amidst all this, 8th pay commission Discussions are also gaining momentum about it. It is expected that after the next Lok Sabha elections, the new government can constitute it. All these things together create hope in the minds of the employees that not only their old dues can be paid, but will also consider the increase in increment and other benefits in the future.
