Uttar Pradesh, which was once known for lack of poor roads and infrastructure, has joined India’s fastest road development states today. The Yogi is one of the biggest achievements of the government – the trap of the expressway. So far, many big and strategic expressways have either been completed or under construction in the state:
- Purvanchal Expressway
- Gorakhpur Link Expressway
- Bundelkhand Expressway
- Ganga Expressway
- Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway
- Meerut-Haridwar Expressway
These projects have not only made the journey between cities easy and short, but it has now added the boundaries of Uttar Pradesh to the states like Delhi, Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand and Madhya Pradesh.
Announcement of 46 new national, 70 states and 57 district routes
The expansion of road network in UP has been unprecedented during the Yogi government. Government:
- 46 new National Highways (4,115 km)
- 70 new state routes (5,604 km)
- 57 major district routes (2,831 km)
It has been announced, due to which UP has now joined India’s highest road network states.
Rural roads changed picture of villages
Strongly of rural roads:
- Farmers got easy access to market
- It was convenient to go to school for children
- Patients get the facility to reach the hospital early
- Merchants became easier to deliver goods to the market
Its effect can be seen clearly in the economic progress and social change of the state. The villages are no longer ‘village’, but have become a fast participant in the race for development.

Today Uttar Pradesh has joined the states that are building the fastest roads in the country. According to government data, average of 20 km of road construction or widening has been created every day.
