ITR Refund News: The last date for filing ITR for the current year i.e. 2024-2025 was the 15th of this month (September). Most of you have filed ITR. But millions of taxpayers have not yet received their returns or refunds. Although some people have complained to the Income Tax Department, most people are wasting their time on social media.
According to the ITR admitted by the Income Tax Officers, there are many reasons for not issuing returns. Six of these are very important. These are explained below.
1. Pre-validation is mandatory:
Pre-validation of bank accounts is mandatory. During pre-validation, PAN card and bank account must be matched. If the IFSC code is incorrect, there will be no pre-validation. To get pre-validation done, you have to log on to Incometax.gov.in portal.
2 e-satyapan mandatory:
E-satyapan is mandatory within 30 days of improvement in bank account. Income tax returns (ITR) will be considered invalid by the Income Tax Department without e-satisfaction. No refund will be given by the Income Tax Department for the invalid account. Use the “e-verified return” option on the Incometax.gov.in portal. If e-satyapan is not done within 30 days, a fine will have to be paid.
3. Error in TDS details:
If there is any error in the TDS (tax deduction at the source) details, the ITR return will not be filed. If there is any discrepancy in the information presented by the tax deductor, the refund will not be done. The TDS details presented by the company or bank should be depicted correctly in Form 26AS.
4. Problem when the amount of refund is more:
If the refund amount you get is more than Rs 50,000, then it becomes difficult to file the return. In such a situation, cross-verification of large transactions is necessary. This process may take time and refund may be delayed.
5. Wrong or old bank information:
If the information given while filling the ITR is wrong, then the refund will not be available. If the account number is incorrect or the account number given has already been closed, then money
Will not get it. Even if the IFSC code number is wrong, ITR will not get money.
6. Technical problems:
If the Income Tax Department server or portal is delayed, then ITR returns cannot be obtained. Even if there are technical flaws in refund processing, money cannot be received. You can see the status of “refund status” on the Income Tax Department’s website Inometax.gov.in.
If it takes more than 5 weeks, contact the Income Tax Department.
