News India Live, Digital Desk: Amidst all the efforts to improve the image of the police in Uttar Pradesh, some such pictures come to the fore, which raise questions on the entire department. The latest case is from the Taj city of Agra, where even after issuing the challan, the ‘anger’ of the police did not subside and they publicly beat up a car driver. Someone captured this entire incident in his camera and now this video is spreading like wildfire on social media. What is the whole matter? The incident took place on the busy MG Road of Agra. It is being told that a car driver had parked his car on the roadside and had gone for some work. Meanwhile, the traffic police crane reached there. As soon as the crane driver started lifting the car, the owner of the car came running there. An argument started between the car owner and the policemen regarding removing the car. The police issued an online challan of the car. Normally the matter should have ended here. But from here the real ‘action’ started. First slap, then chase and beating. Even after the challan was issued, the altercation continued between the car driver and the police. It is clearly visible in the video that during the argument, a policeman loses his temper and slaps the car driver hard. Then, the matter got worse. When the car driver protested, another policeman also attacked him. It is seen in the video that the policemen are beating the man by making him run on the road. A crowd of people gathered around, people kept watching the show, but no one could muster the courage to intervene. The police officer said – “There will be an investigation.” As soon as the video went viral, there was a stir in the police department. When DCP Traffic Syed Arib Ahmed was talked about, he said that the matter has come to his notice. The video is being investigated and it is being ascertained who are the policemen seen in the video. He assured that after investigation, strict action will be taken against whoever is found guilty. This incident once again raises the question whether the police has the right to take the law into their own hands? Issuing a challan is a legal process, but where is the justice in openly assaulting a citizen after that? Now it remains to be seen whether ‘action after investigation’ is taken in this matter or the matter is put on hold.
