New initiative of UP Transport Department: Now e-challan reminder will be found on WhatsApp

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government is starting a new digital initiative to promote compliance with traffic rules and facilitate the recovery of pending e-challans. The State Transport Department is now starting sending reminders of unpeded e-challan directly on WhatsApp. This step will help the vehicle owners to pay their challan on time and will also improve the revenue collection of the department.

According to reports, the Transport Department will send a message to the vehicle owners whose e-challan is pending. The objective of this initiative is that people should be updated with their challan information and can pay the fine within the stipulated time. SMS and email alert arrangements will also continue for those who have not used WhatsApp or they do not have the facility.

Why this feature is important:

These reminders sent by the department from time to time will help the challanrs to remember the fixed dates, which will prevent delay fees. This will not only enhance compliance but also streamline the administrative process. As seen in some other states, such digital notifications are helpful in increasing the government revenue collection effectively. Through this, government services easily reach citizens and the need to revolve around government offices is also less.

This initiative is in line with the attitude of Digital India, which aims to make government services more transparent, accessible and efficient. The Transport Department has already provided several services related to driving license, registration etc. online, and now this step for e-challan will make the process easier for the people.
