Agra to Aligarh Green Expressway: There is a very good news for those traveling for hours between Agra and Aligarh. Now the journey between these two cities will be reduced to just one hour. The construction work of the Green Expressway for which people were waiting for a long time has now started.
This expressway will not only reduce the distance between two cities, but will also open new doors of progress for 66 villages in three districts.
When will the vehicles start running?
On this 64.9 kilometer long expressway being built by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI). December 2027 The vehicles will start running. This expressway will start from the toll plaza near Khandauli in Agra and will directly connect Aligarh to NH-91. After its construction, you will reach Aligarh in just 45 minutes from Khandauli and in about an hour from Agra city.
What is the whole project and how much will it cost?
This huge expressway is being constructed in two phases and a total of Rs 1536.9 crore Estimated cost.
- First Step: 36.9 km long, cost ₹820.40 crore.
- Second step: 28 km long, cost ₹716.50 crore.
Construction companies of Ghaziabad and Faridabad have taken over the work and work has started on both the phases.
‘Lottery’ is going to be held in these villages
This green expressway will pass through the three districts of Agra, Hathras and Aligarh. In this:
- 48 villages of Hathras
- 14 villages of Aligarh
- And 4 villages of Agra are included.
As soon as this expressway is ready, development will take off around these villages and there is every possibility that the prices of land here will skyrocket. To make the journey easier, 49 foot over bridge, underpass and railway over bridge will also be built on it.

The biggest advantage of this expressway will be that people will not only get freedom from jams, but will also save their time and vehicle fuel due to the reduction in distance. It has been named ‘Green Expressway’ because while building it, care will be taken to ensure minimum damage to the greenery.
