Taking a big decision, the Railway Board has decided to regularize many ‘special’ trains running via Muzaffarpur, Barauni and Darbhanga. After this decision, passengers will not only find it easier to get confirmed tickets, but will also be free from extra fares given in the name of ‘Special Fare’. Now these trains will run on the tracks with normal numbers and normal fares.

Big reduction in fares: Passengers will get relief from their pockets

Till now, the fares of special trains run by the Railways for festive season or to reduce crowding were 10% to 30% higher than normal trains. But now major trains like Barauni-New Delhi and Darbhanga-New Delhi have been converted into regular services. The biggest benefit from this will be to those common travelers and laborers who go to Delhi-NCR for livelihood. Now they will have to pay the ticket price as per the normal slab of superfast and express trains.

Reservation facility 60 days in advance: Travel planning will be easy

A major problem with special trains was that their timetables and booking windows often opened at the last minute. Now after becoming regular, passengers will be able to book their seats in these trains 60 to 120 days in advance (advance reservation period). With the regularization of many pairs of trains passing through Muzaffarpur Junction, the problem of waiting list is also expected to improve. According to railway officials, operation of these trains will now continue throughout the year, so that passengers will not have to wait for a new announcement every time.

Also got the gift of summer special trains

Along with regularization, in view of the huge rush during summer holidays, Railways has also approved 8 pairs of new ‘Summer Special’ trains for Bihar. These trains will run on routes like Anand Vihar to Jogbani, Saharsa to Yesvantpur and Delhi to Supaul. Although these summer special trains will be for a limited period at present, the rail network of Bihar has got a new strength by making the trains on major routes permanent. Similar changes may be seen on some other routes in the coming days.
