Uttar Pradesh will now be known not only for its huge population or historical heritage, but also for its fast pace. Such a network of roads, especially expressways, is being laid that this state is now running fast on the path of becoming the ‘Express State of India’.
7 expressways are operational, 5 are being built and 9 have been approved. In total, a more than 2000 kilometer long expressway network is being built in UP with 21 expressways, which will not only connect the cities but will also open new doors of employment and development for millions of people.
UP becomes ‘powerhouse’ of country’s expressway network
The figures are shocking. With the recent commissioning of the Gorakhpur Link Expressway, Uttar Pradesh alone has 42% of the country’s total expressway network.
But the story does not end here. As soon as the 594 km long Ganga Expressway connecting Meerut to Prayagraj will be ready, this figure will increase to 62%. This means that out of every 10 kilometers of expressways built in the country in future, more than 6 kilometers will be in Uttar Pradesh alone.
Not just roads, new paths of progress
These expressways being built under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath are not just concrete roads, but they are the arteries of development which are bringing progress to every corner of the state.
- The picture of Purvanchal will change: Gorakhpur Link Expressway is not just connecting the cities, but it is guaranteed to change the social and economic picture of Purvanchal.
- From Bundelkhand to Terai: The areas which were earlier considered backward, like Bundelkhand, Purvanchal and Terai, are today directly connected to the financial capital of the country through expressways.
- Benefit to farmers and industries: With the construction of the expressway, it will be easier for the farmers to transport their crops to the markets, while new industrial corridors are also being developed, due to which employment opportunities are increasing.
7 operational expressways of UP, on whose pace the state is:
Uttar Pradesh is the only state in the country where so many expressways are already operational:
