Mumbai, 14 October (Hindustan Reporter). Mumbai team of Customs Department has seized 5 kg of marijuana drug at Mumbai Airport and arrested a person who came from Bangkok in this case. The estimated value of the recovered drug has been estimated at Rs 5.07 crore. This drug was hidden in food packets and kept wrapped in gift paper. Intensive investigation of this matter is going on.
Customs sources said on Monday that the Mumbai Customs team was conducting regular surveillance at Mumbai Airport. On Sunday night, a person coming from Bangkok was stopped on suspicion and his luggage was searched. The person had hidden this drug in a box wrapped in food packet and gift wrapper, which was confiscated after investigation. After this, the Customs team arrested the person under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. Intensive investigation of this matter is going on.
