After the technical glitch was resolved, the flight took off from Bengaluru late night on January 5 and reached Delhi on Monday morning. Air India sent the passengers to their destination by another plane. Air Traffic Control (ATC) sources at Kempegowda Airport confirmed that one engine of the aircraft failed during flight. The police who reached the airport at night also confirmed this. Air India called it an operational issue. “All emergency protocols were followed and an ambulance and fire tender were ready at the spot before the flight made an emergency landing,” an airport source said.

A top police officer said, ‘I was told that the Delhi-bound Air India flight had an engine problem. I was asked to report for duty immediately on the night of January 3 because a flight carrying 150 to 180 passengers was about to make an emergency landing. The plane landed safely and there were no problems. According to the flight tracker website, the plane took off again at 11:47 pm on Sunday night and reached Delhi at 2:07 am on Monday, 5 hours 27 minutes behind schedule.
