Meanwhile, former India veteran spinner and 2007 T20 World Cup hero Harbhajan Singh has made a statement that has launched a new debate on social media. Harbhajan, popularly known as ‘Turbanator’, believes that the current Pakistani team is so weak that even the national team of India, Punjab’s Ranji team can easily defeat them.
Harbhajan Singh has shown this confidence after watching India’s recent victories. In the Super Four match of the Asia Cup, India defeated Pakistan with a huge margin of 228 runs, which was India’s biggest win over Pakistan in terms of runs in ODI history.
What did Harbhajan Singh say?
Talking on a sports talk show, Harbhajan said, “It has become too much. It is enough ‘Pakistan-Pakistan’. They have no power. We will defeat our Punjab team.”
He further said that there is no longer any match between Pakistan and India. Harbhajan took a pinch and said, “Please tell me what is special in his team that we should talk about them. Honestly, I and our sports has a difference of ground and sky. India is playing much better. Virat Kohli has shown what the real class is.”
Akram also expressed concern
Harbhajan is not the only one who is disappointed with the performance of the Pakistani team. Former Pakistan captain and great fast bowler Wasim Akram also raised serious questions at the fitness level of his team. He had said that Pakistani players should go through a fitness test every other week to ensure that they live up to the standards of international cricket.
Harbhajan’s statement may prick some people, but it also shows the dominance of the current Indian team and the recent struggle of the Pakistani team. This shows how Indian cricket is moving forward, while Pakistan still needs to improve in many areas.
