Be it men’s or women’s team, Pakistan’s story in the World Cup does not change – poor performance and exit from the tournament. The journey of the Pakistani team in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025, being hosted by India and Sri Lanka, has now come to an end, and that too without winning a single match.
This team led by captain Fatima Sana remained yearning for a victory. Out of the total 7 league matches played in the World Cup, the team faced a crushing defeat in 4, while 3 matches were washed out due to rain. These were the rainy matches, due to which 3 points were added to the team’s account, otherwise Pakistan’s account would have remained empty.
This was the flop show of Pakistan
Nothing went right for Pakistan in this World Cup.
- bangladesh Defeated them by 7 wickets.
- India India won by 88 runs.
- Australia thrashed by 107 runs.
- South Africa Defeated by a huge margin of 150 runs.
The condition of the team was so bad that if the matches against England and New Zealand had not been canceled due to rain, perhaps the loss figure would have been even bigger.
The captain blamed the defeat on the batsmen
Following their exit from the tournament, Pakistani captain Fatima Sana spoke on her team’s performance. He admitted that the team’s bowling and fielding were fine, but poor batting sank the team.
However, he also said that it was a learning experience for him. He also targeted the ICC and said that if more venues were kept in view of the bad weather, the chances of matches getting canceled would have been less.
Was forbidden from coming to India
Let us tell you that the teams of Pakistan and Bangladesh are already out of the race for the semi-finals. Pakistan had refused to come to India for the World Cup citing security reasons, due to which all their matches had to be played in Sri Lanka. Now that India has reached the semi-finals, all the remaining major matches (semi-finals and final) will be played in India only.
