News India Live, Digital Desk: The year 2025 is now at its final stage, i.e. the month of December is going on. The chill of winter has increased, but the importance of this month is very special in Indian tradition and religion. the reason is‘Paush Amavasya’.

In our scriptures, Amavasya is not considered just a dark night but also the date of meeting of ancestors. And when it comes to the month of Pausha, it is also called “Chhota Pitru Paksha”. If you feel that there are no blessings in the house, mutual fights are increasing or some unknown fear is troubling you, then these may be signs of ‘Pitra Dosh’. And believe me, this Amavasya of December is the biggest opportunity to overcome these problems.

Let us understand in simple language what you should and should not do on this day.

When is this special Amavasya?
The Amavasya of Krishna Paksha that is coming in this month of December will be called Paush Amavasya. From a religious point of view, this day is dedicated to bathing, charity and peace of ancestors. If you cannot go to the banks of Ganga or any holy river, then take a bath at home by mixing some Ganga water in a bucket, this is also equally fruitful.

How to convince ancestors? (Pitra Puja Method)
No need for much fanfare. Our ancestors are only hungry for reverence.

  1. Water Tarpan: Waking up early in the morning, after bathing, offer water to the Sun God. After that, face the South direction and remember your ancestors and offer them black sesame seeds and water in your hand. This is called ‘Tarpan’.
  2. Importance of black sesame: It is cold in this month, and the nature of sesame is hot. Therefore, donating black sesame seeds on Paush Amavasya and using it in worship is considered very auspicious.

Whom to donate?
Donation made to the poor or needy on this day reaches God directly. Since it is winter, warm clothes, woolen shawl or blanket Donation is the best. Apart from this, donating grains, jaggery and sesame laddus also reduces Shani Dosh.

Some precautions (Rules to follow)
Friends, one should avoid making some mistakes on the day of Amavasya, otherwise the work being done may get spoiled:

  • this day at home meat and liquor Or do not cook or eat Tamasic food (Non-veg & Alcohol) at all.
  • Basil leaves should not be plucked on this day.
  • Do not insult any poor or helpless person, rather help as much as you can.
  • In the evening, light a mustard oil lamp at the main door of the house or under the Peepal tree. This brings light to the souls of the ancestors and they depart happily.

So this time, in the last days of the year, do not forget to seek the blessings of your ancestors. A little faith can brighten the fortunes of your entire family.
