News India Live, Digital Desk: Pli scheme: Try the smartphone in your hand once. Maybe it is written on Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi or Motorola (Lenovo). For years, these Chinese companies have been selling their phones in the huge market of India and we are all using them. But now the story has a new and very interesting turn.
Now these companies are not only selling phones in India, but they are sending other countries of the world here.
Yes, the ‘Made in India’ phone which we and you were still using, now they have started selling in the countries of America, Africa and Middle East across the seven seas. This is a very big change, which shows that India is now not just a big market, but is on the way to become a new ‘factory’ in the world.
This is not magic. The Government of India has a big hand behind the Government of India like ‘Make in India’ and ‘Production Linked Inscent’ (PLI). In easy language, the government told these companies, “Do not sell only in India, make it here and sell the world from here. We will help you financially.”
The impact of this initiative is now visible. Chinese companies which used to make phones for only 140 crore people of India earlier, are now making India their ‘Export Hub’.
What is the benefit of us and you?
-
Jobs: The biggest and direct benefit of this is to the common people like you and us. When big factories are installed and production increases, thousands of people get employment.
-
The strength of the country: When ‘Made in India’ phones are sold in America or Africa, dollars come to the country, which makes our economy strong.
-
India’s growing stature: It gives a message to the world that India is now not only a country buying goods, but also a country to make and sell high quality goods. This is a direct challenge to China’s ‘world factory’ Tamge.
So the next time you look at the phone of a Chinese brand, remember that now its story is changing. This story is of ‘Made in India’, which is now coming out of India and making its mark in the whole world.
