ASEAN summit Malaysia 2025 : A big international conference is going to be held in Malaysia later this month, but Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not attend it. In his place, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar will participate from India’s side. Now the question arises that why is PM Modi not going to such an important conference? The Prime Minister of Malaysia himself has given the answer to this and you will feel good to know the reason.
Malaysia’s Prime Minister told the real reason
Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said that he had spoken to PM Modi on phone. He said, “PM Modi told me that there is a festival of Diwali in India, due to which he will not be able to attend this meeting in person. However, he can join online (virtual). We fully respect his decision.”
This is a big thing, because PM Modi has been continuously participating in ASEAN-India and East Asia summits for the last several years.
Not only the conference, there was also discussion on friendship.
This phone conversation between the two Prime Ministers was not limited to just the conference. During this, there was also discussion on deepening the relations between the two countries. The Malaysian Prime Minister said that he and PM Modi talked about taking India-Malaysia friendship to a new level. He acknowledged that India is a very important friend for Malaysia in areas like trade, investment, technology and education.

India is a very important partner of this organization. This friendship, which started in 1992, has today become very strong in many areas like trade, investment and defence.
