A petition has been filed in Ajmer court seeking a ban on offering the chadar sent by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Ajmer Sharif Dargah. In this petition filed by Hindu Sena, an appeal has been made to stop the chadar being sent by the Central Government from being offered at Ajmer Sharif Dargah. Earlier, Hindu Sena had filed a petition in the court claiming that Ajmer Sharif Dargah was built on the site of Shiv temple.
The Urs of Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti began on Wednesday, and to mark the occasion, there are plans to offer a chadar sent by Prime Minister Modi at the dargah on Saturday. Meanwhile, Hindu Sena has filed a petition in the court demanding a ban on offering chadar.
The petition filed by Hindu Sena said that the hearing of this case is scheduled on January 24, and the Central Government is also a party in this case. It has been said in the petition that putting the sheet sent by the Prime Minister on January 4 on the disputed structure will affect judicial independence and the right to a fair trial. This move could hamper the independence of the court and affect the entire legal process. The petition also states that if an order is not passed against the offering of chadar, the plaintiff and the case may suffer irreparable harm. This petition will be heard in the court of Civil Judge Manmohan Chandel of Ajmer on January 4 at 10 am.
It is noteworthy that Hindu Sena’s National President Vishnu Gupta had filed a petition claiming the Dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti in Ajmer as Sankat Mochan Mahadev Temple. The Civil Court of Ajmer had accepted this petition for hearing and issued notice to the Ministry of Minority Affairs of the Government of India, the Dargah Committee and the Archaeological Survey of India Department. Vishnu Gupta has cited Harbilas Sharda’s book “Ajmer Historical and Descriptive” written in 1911 in his petition.
