When the police team tried to catch the accused Gautam, he fired on the police and tried to escape. The police also retaliated and fired on him. The bullet hit the accused’s leg and he fell on the ground. He was immediately taken into custody and rushed to the hospital for treatment. According to the police, the accused Gautam has already been prosecuted for theft and many other cases.

The government claims that more than 18 thousand criminals have been shot in the encounter in UP under ‘Operation Langra’. This simply means that either the criminals should improve, or leave UP, otherwise their results can be the same as being ‘Langra’.
