Political Conspiracy: We have been played with

Posts

News India Live, Digital Desk: Political Conspiracy: There was a big political upheaval in the electoral arena of Bihar when Hemant Soren’s party Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) suddenly announced that it will no longer contest the elections. This decision was also surprising because just a day before, JMM had not only announced to contest the elections alone on 6 seats, but had also released the list of its star campaigners, in which the name of Chief Minister Hemant Soren himself was included.

So what changed in 24 hours that the party that had entered the fray with a bang had to step back? The reason behind this is the ‘betrayal’ from the Grand Alliance’s own allies.

“There has been political manipulation and conspiracy”

JMM has directly blamed the big ‘brothers’ of the Grand Alliance, i.e. RJD and Congress, for this decision. The party has called it a “political conspiracy” and “manipulation” against it.

Sudivya Kumar, a Jharkhand minister and JMM leader, said, “Political games were played with JMM and that is why the party has decided to withdraw from Bihar elections. RJD has shown ‘political manipulation’, which is not right in politics.”

What was the root of the dispute?

The root of the dispute was the distribution of seats. JMM wanted to contest elections in Bihar as a part of the grand alliance and had demanded respectable seats. According to reports, JMM had staked its claim on 12 seats. When talks did not work out with RJD and Congress, JMM got angry and first announced to contest alone on 6 seats.

But JMM leaders allege that from October 7 to October 20, RJD and Congress kept them hanging. Neither said ‘yes’ on the seats nor gave any clear answer. JMM saw this procrastination as an insult to itself.

Will the effect be seen in Jharkhand also?

JMM’s anger is not limited to Bihar only. The party has clearly threatened that this “insult” in Bihar will be avenged and the alliance with Congress and RJD in Jharkhand will also be “reviewed”. This is a big blow to the Grand Alliance, because it has also put a question mark on the unity of the opposition.

With this move of JMM, it has become clear that all is not well within the ‘INDIA’ alliance in Bihar and the fight for seats has created a deep rift in the relations.
