News India Live, Digital Desk: New Twist in Politics: In Indian politics these days, a case is in the headlines, which has shocked everyone – and it is connected with the sanitary pad and the picture of a politician published on it. There has been a political uproar over the distribution of sanitary pads with a picture of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. FIR has also been registered in this case, after which the Congress has retaliated on the BJP.
Actually, this entire controversy started when sanitary pads with a picture of Rahul Gandhi were distributed in some places. The BJP accused it of politicizing it ‘cheap politics’ and a ‘sensitive issue’. He said that it is unfair to print a picture of a leader on a private hygiene item like sanitary pads and it is against the honor of women.
After this dispute, Congress leader Supriya Srinet came forward and defended the party. He admitted that an FIR has been registered in this case. Taking a dig at the BJP, Supriya Srinet said that when his (BJP) “propaganda model” is such that he finds politics in everything, what he can do. He retaliated and said that the Congress is working for the health and empowerment of women, while the BJP only pretends.
Supriya Srinet insisted that the distribution of sanitary pads is not a crime, but it is a way to promote women’s health and hygiene. He accused the BJP of unnecessarily giving political color to the issue.
This incident shows how even the smallest issue can take a big political form in the election environment. While the Congress wants to raise the issue of women empowerment and health, the BJP is presenting it as an electoral advantage and lack of sensitivity. Now it will be seen what the controversy takes further and will it affect the election results.
