News India Live, Digital Desk: It is becoming increasingly difficult to breathe in the poisonous air of Delhi. Delhi government has taken another big step to deal with the increasing pollution and the serious ‘Air Quality Index’ (AQI). Now the timings of all the offices of Delhi Government and Municipal Corporation (MCD) have been changed. This decision has been taken to reduce the traffic burden on the roads so that the pollution caused by vehicles can be reduced to some extent.
What are the new office timings?
According to the order issued by the government, now all the offices of Delhi Government and MCD will open at 10 am instead of 10 am. at 9 am Will open and instead of 5 pm 4 pm Will be closed only. this new rule November 15, 2025 Will come into effect from 10th and will continue till further orders.
Why was this decision taken?
There are many reasons for pollution in Delhi, one of the big reasons is the smoke coming out of vehicles. In the morning and evening, when most people go to or return to office, there is traffic jam on the roads. During this time, vehicles move slowly or remain parked at one place, due to which a lot of smoke comes out and the level of pollution increases rapidly.
The government believes that advancing office timings by one hour will help in reducing congestion on the roads. This will improve traffic flow and the smoke from vehicles will also reduce to some extent. The purpose of this step is to encourage people to travel at different times so that the pressure on the roads is reduced during peak hours.
Situation like ‘air emergency’ continues
This decision has come amidst the “air emergency” like situation in Delhi. In many areas of the city, the AQI level has crossed 500, which falls in the ‘severe plus’ category. Due to this poisonous air, people are facing problems like difficulty in breathing, burning sensation in the eyes and sore throat.
The government is also taking many other steps to control pollution, such as strictly enforcing Group 4 rules, closing schools and banning construction work. Change in office timings is also a part of this series, so that the people of Delhi can get some relief from this poisonous air.
