After five other countries including Portugal got the opportunity to host the 2030 Football World Cup, star striker Cristiano Ronaldo has said that this tournament to be played after six years will be very special. FIFA, the supreme body of world football, on Wednesday officially announced the hosts of the 2030 and 2034 Football World Cups.
The 2030 World Cup matches will be played in six countries across three continents. This will be the first time that the Football World Cup will be organized in six countries. It is jointly hosted by Spain, Portugal and Morocco. But one match each of this World Cup will also be organized in South American countries Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay. The first Football World Cup was held in Uruguay in 1930 and FIFA has assigned the South American country to host a match to celebrate its 100th anniversary. Ronaldo posted a photo of himself celebrating in a Portugal jersey on Instagram, writing: “A dream come true.” This will be a very special World Cup. Portugal will make us proud by hosting the World Cup in 2030. FIFA also announced to hand over the hosting of the World Cup to be held in 2034 to Saudi Arabia.
