News India Live, Digital Desk: In Bihar politics, Prashant Kishore, i.e. PK, always remains in the headlines for his statements and political maneuvers. After the recent assembly elections, he is once again in the news, but this time the reason is not because of his election strategy, but because of his own old claim which now seems to be weighing heavily on him.
What was that big claim of Prashant Kishore?
Before the elections, Prashant Kishor had confidently said that if Nitish Kumar’s party, JDU, won more than 25 seats, he would retire from politics. But the election results were completely opposite. JDU performed brilliantly by winning 85 seats, while Prashant Kishore’s own party ‘Jan Suraj’ failed to win even a single seat.
Since the results, this question was echoing in the political circles of Bihar whether Prashant Kishor will now keep his promise? Posters on this issue were also seen in Patna, in which PK was being reminded of his old statement.
“How can you resign if you are not holding the post?” – PK’s clarification on his own statement
When Prashant Kishore was asked about his promise, he gave an answer which created a new debate. He said, “I am not holding any post in Jan Suraj, so why should I resign?” Many people are seeing his statement as a clear “U-turn” from his promise, while some believe that it is just a clever play on words.
Took responsibility of defeat, but will not leave Bihar
However, Prashant Kishor has taken 100% responsibility for his party’s crushing defeat in the elections. He said that he failed to explain to the public on what basis they should vote and to repent for this, he will keep a one-day silent fast.
PK has also made it clear that those who are thinking that he will leave Bihar after the defeat are delusional. He said that he will stay here and will work twice as hard in his efforts to change the system in Bihar. Along with this, he also accused Nitish Kumar of buying votes by giving money.
Even though PK may have failed in the election field, it is clear from his statement that he will remain active in the politics of Bihar. Now it remains to be seen what their future strategy will be.
