President Draupadi Murmu Praised Up’S Cleanlines Campaign, Lucknow Made A New Record

News India Live, Digital Desk: Lucknow’s Big Jump in Cleanlines Ranking: The positive impact of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is visible in the country and the cities of Uttar Pradesh have also got their iron. Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, has made a great jump in the recently released Swachh Survekshan 2023 rankings. Last year, Lucknow, which is ranked 44th in the ranking of 2022 last year, has reached 12th position directly in the category of cities with more than 1 million population across the country. It has become the cleanest city in UP in this category, which is a matter of pride for the state.

There are many reasons behind this achievement of the capital Lucknow. Scientific methods of solid waste management implemented by the Municipal Corporation, the arrangement of garbage completely from door to door, and active participation of citizens have played an important role in this progress. The evaluation of clean survey is based on standards such as garbage -free cities rating (GFC) and ODF ++ (open defecation free) status. After meeting these standards, Lucknow has waved its cleanliness. President Draupadi Murmu also honored Municipal Corporation officials at a function held at Vigyan Bhawan.

Not only Lucknow, other cities of Uttar Pradesh have also improved their position in terms of cleanliness. Among cities with population of 1 to 10 lakhs, Noida has become the cleanest city in UP in this category coming to 14th position across the country. Apart from this, major cities of the state such as Ghaziabad (20th), Prayagraj (22nd), Varanasi (23rd), Kanpur (29th) and Agra (37th) have also performed better. However, Firozabad’s place has been the last in big cities.

Overall, Indore and Surat may have been declared the joint winner of the cleanest city for the seventh consecutive time, and Navi Mumbai may have finished third, but Uttar Pradesh has also proved its importance in this race. This clearly shows that a lot of work is being done at the ground level in the state regarding urban cleanliness and waste management, which is directly benefiting citizens and the image of cities is also improving. This trend will pave the way for more clean and lustable Uttar Pradesh cities in the future.
