News India Live, Digital Desk: A very sad news has come out from Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh. A painful accident occurred during the immersion of Durga statue, in which many people lost their lives due to tractor-trolley overturned in the pond. This incident has shocked the entire area.

According to the information received, a tractor-trolley filled with devotees was passing through a raw bridge while returning from immersion of Durga statue in Jamali village of Khandwa. Suddenly, due to deteriorating balance on the culvert, this tractor-trolley fell into the pond, which drowned many people. The initial report confirmed the death of 9 to 11 people, including many children. Police and administration teams immediately started rescue work and continued the search for the missing people with the help of divers. After the accident, the nearby villagers also reached the spot for help and handed over the rescue work.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep condolences on this sad incident. In his condolence message through the social media platform ‘X’ (first Twitter), he said that he is very sad about the loss of life and property in this accident. The Prime Minister expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased and also prayed for the early recovery of the injured.

It has been announced on behalf of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) that the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) will be given an ex-gratia amount of Rs 2-2 lakh (X-Grasia). Apart from this, those who have been injured in this accident will also get financial assistance of Rs 50,000. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has also expressed grief over the incident and instructed the families of the deceased for financial assistance of Rs 4-4 lakh and proper treatment of the injured.

This incident is really unfortunate and it once again raises serious questions about security measures during religious events. The administration and local people will have to make strong arrangements for such events so that such incidents can be stopped in future.
