Mandi, September 1 (HS). A running competition was organized at the historic Paddal ground in Mandi. Former District Congress Committee Mandi President Deepak Sharma attended the event as the chief guest. This competition was organized by Chaman Lal and his colleagues. Hundreds of participants from across the state took part in the competition. This time, a running competition was organized for girls along with the participating boys.
The race competition for boys was 1600 meters and for girls it was 800 meters. On this occasion, Rohit Kumar Hatgarh stood first in the boys' competition. While Suresh Thakur Sarkaghat stood second and Paras of Hamirpur stood third. While among girls, Mansi Hatgarh of Hatgarh stood first, Kashish of Hamirpur stood second, Lalita of Mandi stood third. Chief guest Deepak Sharma distributed prizes and prize money to the winners.
On this occasion, Deepak Sharma said that sports plays an important role in building a person's personality. It also teaches a player many things that help him to become a better person in life. It teaches the art of sharing success and failure achieved at alternate stages of life, to deal with a problem collectively, to take backup and to help each other in critical situations. It also enhances their leadership and team working qualities. Sports helps in keeping a person's mind healthy and active. Due to which their negative energy goes away. It makes people strong, confident and efficient and plays an important role in their mental and physical development and character building.
